Our Editors

Heidi Betts

Heidi Betts is a USA Today bestselling Romance author who’s suddenly found herself in charge of a new digital-first publishing venture, which came about through her love of finding amazing new voices and wanting to sing their praises from the rooftops. She edits the way she reads and hopes that Turn the Page Publishing can live up to the motto: We don’t care how they do it in New York. 😀

Heidi is looking for strong romance voices, characters she wishes she could be, and stories she can’t put down. If this sounds like a tall order, never fear–she will read just about anything and sometimes doesn’t know what she loves until she reads it. (Just ask Maj.) But if you want to get on her good side, make sure any animals in your books are rescues. 😉

Her favorites–which she adds to regularly–are already mentioned on the Submissions Page.

Kat Majik

Kat Majik is an editorial ghostwriter by day, an indie romance author by night, and now the LGTBQ+/Inclusive Editor for Turn the Page Publishing. She’s freelanced for several pop culture websites and worked with fellow indie creators to get their books to the people who’ve been looking for them. Maj is looking for slice-of-life, feel-good stories about being queer and falling in love. She wants to see the magic in the everyday and how the connections we make with each other helps us find ourselves, too. Unique and distinct voices, a fully realized supporting cast, and asexual spectrum characters are a major thumbs-up. But she will literally give anything a whirl, as long as its got heart.

Some of her favorite books are Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, King of Cups by Phoebe Woods, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen.

Thalon Hansen

Thalon Hansen is a self-described author advocate, cheerleader, writing coach, and avid reader before she identifies as an editor. Raised by an author, she grew up eating, sleeping, and breathing storytelling, and has a great passion for the craft. The impact and importance storytelling has on our identities as human beings drives her to support authors in creating dynamic characters, immersive settings, and compelling plots. With a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in Publishing, Thalon is fully equipped to make your manuscript dreams into published reality. Thalon enjoys morally gray heroes and heroines who would burn the world for their one true love, as well as smart, sassy underdogs you can’t help but root for. Characters and authors with disabilities are welcome, especially if they defy convention, challenge ableism, and emphasize that everyone can be loved!

Some of her favorite books include A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas, Godkiller by Hanna Kaner, The Every King by LJ Andrews, and The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen.
